Halloween, Adult-Style

Tonight is Old Bar Halloween.

{Old Bar is a country bar in a country town that is full of awesome.
And has a boar head smoking a cigarette on its wall. Win.}

Based on the historical data available, I will be Old Bar drunk tonight.

{This is similar to, but not quite as boisterous as, Las Vegas drunk.
Nonetheless it is a legendary state of drunk.}

This sums up both my costume and how my night will end exquisitely.

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

I'm not. Because Australia doesn't do Halloween. I threw a Halloween party a couple of years ago. Half the people who turned up didn't come in costume, because EFFORT. The ones who DID come in costume had found a pair of animal ears and were wearing them with jeans and a t-shirt. So...yeah. :(

I find Halloween an interesting holiday. I like seeing people in their ridiculous costumes.

I hope so too, Terri Lynn! Thanks for dropping by!

I completely agree, Gina! I'm a people-watcher to begin with, but Halloween makes it extra fun!

That's so sad, Kirsti!! I knew that you guys were a little strange {ahem, Vegemite on toast}, but no Halloween? Is there a replacement holiday for it? How do you go about obtaining free candy from strangers as a kid in Australia?

Nope. Australia pretty much does Easter and Christmas. That's it in terms of holidays. And even then, maybe one house in every twenty uses outside decorations at Christmas time.

It seems like few people decorate outside for Christmas here anymore too. It's just too much of a hassle I guess?
